Young carers are some of the most resilient, empathetic, and capable young people you'll ever meet. But too often, their needs go unnoticed — by schools, by services, by society. Care To Mentor exists to change that. We provide mentoring, workshops, and resources that give young carers the support, skills, and confidence to thrive — not just survive.

I started Care To Mentor because I know what it feels like to watch a young person carry the world on their shoulders — quietly, without complaint, without anyone really noticing. What moves me every single day is seeing those same young people step into a safe space, take a breath, and begin to realise just how extraordinary they are. When I see a young carer set a goal and reach it — when I watch them grow in confidence, find their voice, and start to believe in their own future — I am reminded exactly why this work matters. You are not just surviving. You are becoming. And it is the greatest privilege of my life to be part of that journey.

Born from lived experience
Care To Mentor grew from a simple but powerful realisation: that young carers are often the last people anyone thinks to support. Our founder saw first-hand how young people who spend their days looking after others rarely have anyone looking out for them. So we built something that does. What started as a small mentoring project has grown into a programme of workshops, 1-1 and group mentoring, and resources — all designed specifically for young carers, by people who truly understand their world.

Marieta founded Care To Mentor after years of working with young carers and witnessing the gap in dedicated support. She brings warmth, lived understanding, and an unshakeable belief in every young person's potential.
